Our Directors are chefs with many years of experience throughout Australia and internationally. Damian completed his apprenticeship in Perth at Frasers Restaurant and has also aworked at The Vines Resort, Giardini’s, The Cottesloe Hotel, The Ocean Beach Hotel and the Karri Valley Resort. Damian headed off east and worked as the Sous Chef for Spotless Catering Services and then on to Sydney where he was Sous Chef at Red Bull Restaurant.
Damian has also had extensive international experience, working in London as Senior Chef at Mezzo, Sous Chef at Bibendum, and Sous Chef at the Oyster Bar.
Damian then returned to Adelaide to work in the Lion Hotel (which won the Australian Hotels Association best restaurant award during his time there), then on to the Adelaide Convention Centre, which is the largest convention centre in the southern hemisphere.
Lee is also a fully qualified chef and also has a business qualification from Cordon Bleu where she was award the Dux prize. She has crossed paths with Damian several times in her career – at The Vines Resort in Perth and at Mezzo in London. Lee has also worked at Apicius in Fremantle, Lake Karrinyup Golf Course and the Warehouse Café in Perth.
Damian and Lee saw a niche in the Perth catering industry for a smaller boutique caterer and they established Chica Catering in April in 2004.
